A Record Should Leave Room for the Next Turn

A streak makes continuity easy to see, but it can also make a missed day look like the end of an otherwise useful habit. Turnleaf uses a relay as its organizing idea. The record still remembers what happened; it simply does not make an unbroken line the only meaningful shape of progress.

The next turn becomes the practical unit. A habit needs to be small enough to describe and pass between willing participants. The journal gives that handoff a place, with a record of self-reported actions and an explicit route for repairing a day. The people remain responsible for the activity itself.

That distinction changes the role of a correction. Repair is not a hidden technique for manufacturing a perfect streak. It adds information to a record that would otherwise be incomplete. Keeping the correction visible allows the journal to carry a more honest account of the routine, including interruptions and returns.

The shared-device scope is equally deliberate. The current implementation does not coordinate a remote team or verify behavior through sensors. A local page can still be useful when people understand that bargain and keep their own backups. Start with one action, name the first player and make the next turn clear. The point is to keep a small commitment available after the first burst of motivation has passed.

The working journal begins with a habit and a first player. It records turns on a shared device, supports corrections and offers local exports. Entries are self-reported rather than verified behavior. There is no live remote team account, financial reward system or public ranking. People should participate willingly and keep a private backup if they need the record beyond this browser.
